Vision & Principles
HVUUC Vision
We work together as a church to transform ourselves, our community, and our world by sharing love, pursuing justice, and seeking wonder.
Unitarian Universalist Principles of Faith
The Unitarian Universalist Association is a federation of independent congregations. However, all Unitarian Universalist congregations affirm and promote seven Principles, which we hold as strong values and moral guides.
As Unitarian Universalists we affirm and promote:
The inherent worth and dignity of every person;
Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;
Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;
A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;
The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;
The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;
Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
These Principles are part of a living tradition of UU wisdom and spirituality, drawn from sources as diverse as science, poetry, scripture, and personal experience.
